How the conversion works

STL is the standard mesh format in 3D printing: a plain list of triangles with no units, no color, and no materials. Nearly every slicer and CAD tool reads it.

What survives the STL to GLB conversion?

Geometry comes through completely: every triangle, at full precision. Materials, textures, and vertex colors don't, because the pipeline works on plain geometry. The GLB you download is ready to texture in Blender or a web viewer.

Is there a file size limit?

Files up to 300 MB and 8 million triangles work. Heavier meshes take longer rather than failing outright; if a file is unwieldy, reduce its triangle count first with the reduce tool.
