Streamlined 3D Printing with BambuLab
I've always been obsessed with removing friction. When my grandpa started using 3D printing, the number of steps between "I want this" and "Printer is printing" was just too high. Download model, open slicer, import model, slice, send to printer. It felt like a chore.
And you know what? He just stopped doing it. The friction won.
The "Open in BambuLab" Button
Today, I'm introducing a small but mighty feature: Open in BambuLab. If you are lucky enough to own a BambuLab printer, you can now send your generated models directly to Bambu Studio with a single click.
No more downloading files. No more "File -> Import". Just click and print.
How to enable it?
Go to your Settings and toggle "Always open in BambuLab". Once enabled, the main "Download" button will transform into an "Open in Bambu" button.
Why BambuLab?
Honest answer? Because that's what my grandpa uses. But also because they have an URI scheme that allows this kind of integration. I'd love to add this for PrusaSlicer and Cura too, but I need to know what you all are using. So let me know and I will ad it!
Let us build better workflows for everyone.
What's Next?
This is just one step towards a completely seamless "Text to Object" workflow. I imagine a future where you just say "Make me a hook for this wall", and the printer starts heating up before you even finish the sentence.
We are not there yet, but we are getting closer.
Happy printing!
