The agent behind the new GrandpaCAD chat now runs on GPT-6.1 Sol. Short post, because the change is easy to explain.
Multi-part assemblies, enclosures with all the cutouts in the right places, mechanisms where the pieces actually have to line up. Prompts that used to come back half done (or after three broken attempts) now usually land.
The catch: give it a vague prompt and you get a plain, literal model. "A cool desk organizer" comes back as a box with dividers. Correct, printable... and boring.
So say what you actually want. Compare:
The first one gets you a box. The second one gets you something you'd actually put on your desk. I'll happily trade a bit more typing for a model that gets the hard geometry right, because the creative part is the bit you already know.
If a result looks too plain, don't start over. Tell it what's missing ("round the corners", "make it look like a little house") and it'll add it.
